We all know the importance of a good night’s rest, especially if you have a big day ahead of you. And when you’re a parent chasing munchkins around it’s definitely necessary to take advantage of those energy boosting hours! For one mom of three named Melanie Darnell, she didn’t know why she was waking up feeling so groggy and tired. Even after “sleeping” she’d still be exhausted. So, the mom fitness blogger (at Fit Momma) decided to do some investigating.

One evening when her husband was traveling for work, Melanie attached a camera to her ceiling in her bedroom and hit record. She then went to sleep as usual with plans to check the tape in the morning to find out what was really going on at night. What she discovered explained everything – and since many parents can relate, she decided to share it with the world! It starts out with Melanie being in bed. But after 10:00 p.m. – it all changes…

In the video we see Melanie hop out of bed and leave the room, and when she returns she has her baby in her arms. After getting him snuggled down to sleep next to her, the baby of course gets the sleeping wiggles and is all over the place. Melanie seems to be asleep for some of it – but opens her eyes occasionally as her son squirms around.
