It’s almost that time of the year when we can break out our fuzzy Christmas sweaters, crank the heat, decorate our trees and pour a glass of eggnog. But, before we jump into all of that, Pentatonix is here to spread a little holiday cheer… Halloween cheer, that is!
The five-member acapella group recently tackled a tune from Tim Burton’s classic Halloween film “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and they totally nailed it. They were able to blend the joy of Christmas morning with the horror of Halloween – all while singing their hearts out.
There’s a reason why this video has been viewed so many times in just a few days!
Even though most of us are accustomed to seeing the members of Pentatonix dressed in red and green holiday gear (like they are at the beginning of this video), the sight of them spooked up is downright haunting! With a little change of scenery and dark gothic makeup, they’re able to convey the chilling message of Tim Burton’s classic while belting the words flawlessly.
Who would’ve thought Christmas and Halloween could go hand-in-hand?
Even the groups happiest, most bubbly looking member, Kirstin Maldonado, was able to transform herself from a Christmas sugarplum fairy into a dark-souled songstress!
By the end of their new video, our holiday spirits were up and we were counting down the days until trick-or-treaters come knocking at our doors! From then, it’s a short 55 days until Santa stops by for milk and cookies.
We can wait 55 days for anything – but what we can’t wait for is Pentatonix’s new album, Christmas Is Here!, to arrive. It’s set to be released in a few weeks!
If the rest of the album is anything like “Making Christmas,” we’ll all be in for a big treat!
Listen to their impressive rendition of “Making Christmas” for yourself below. What a spooktacular treat!
